Shadowrun Sale

I’m getting rid of some old gaming stuff on eBay.

Because it’s easy, I’m putting the covers on line and on the blog.

Yeah, I’m a geek. But you know that. And in case you’re looking at these pictures wondering, “What is a Shadowrun?”, allow me to explain, if only a little bit, no, there is too much, let Wikipedia explain Shadowrun.

Happy Birthday!

Happy Birthday to my wife.

I flubbed just about every plan I had for her today in the way of presents, but I did get the dinner plans right.

I love you, Shannon. Happy Birthday!

Are You a Geo-Genius?

National Geographic of late has been coming in a clear plastic envelope (Periodicals USPS 100 Approved Poly) with a single sheet of paper covering the magazine. The paper sometimes has five questions from the National Geographic Bee for the subscriber to quiz on.

This month I scored 80%.

Here are the questions, my answers and thoughts are in the comments. Don’t cheat and Google, or view the comments. Keep it real and challenge yourself people.

The questions are, naturally, Copyright © 2006 National Geographic Society.

Are You a Geo-Genius?

  1. About 80 percent of the people in India follow what major religion?
  2. A Hutu majority and a Tutsi minority make up most of the population of what country north of Burundi?
  3. Friesland, Limburg, and Zeeland are provinces of which European country?
  4. The Great Smoky and Catskill Mountains are regions of what U.S. mountian system?
  5. Most major rivers in Siberia flow into what ocean?

New additions to the header rotation

Trying to keep it fresh. If only a little bit at a time.

Regular visitors to petmystone.com hopefully have noted that the header image changes each time you visit a page.

I just uploaded two new ones. F5, or Refresh—however your browser of choice does that—and you will see the random rotation.

It’s subtle feature of petmystone.com that I hope brings you back, if only for the curiousity of what you might see up there next.

No, you can’t scroll “to see the rest of the picture”; it’s designed that way. To tease you. Hahahahaha...

Hoping for the gritter, rougher, Turtles

The Weinstein Company is bringing the TMNT to the big screen as a CG animated movie.

The teaser trailer looks good. Very suggestive of the old 4 part comic series that took the genre by storm in the late 1980s.

Maybe the market success of comic-turned-film company like Spiderman and Sin City will seep into the minds of the producers and this TMNT will be dirty, gritty, and have just the touch of blood, the of the comic of old.

Catch the teaser here...

Meddling kid

The Petmystones took a trip south for the Fourth of July. We stopped at Paramount’s Kings Dominion for a day in the park.

The NWS excessive heat warning or two and half hour lines didn’t stop us.

Shannon and Bella enjoyed the smaller rides, shows and water park; though a big fan of all things Scooby Doo, the mystery house was dramatic.

I hit the rides almost immediately, getting stuck in a two and a half hour line, baking in the heat, but committed to ride the Hypersonic XLC if for only the peer pressure, especially after willingly participating in the cat calls and boos of those that couldn't hack the heat or the line. No regrets. The “launch coaster” was certainly exhilarating, if only 20 seconds. The two plus hour chunk did limit the rest of the day however.

The Volcano was still down, having a mechanical failure that injured some riders.

Cigar lovers rejoice!

Could it be that an end to the Cuban embargo is nigh?

With the Communist dictator not so well, and Cuban’s already celebrating in the streets, it could be true.

I’m told that it could be a simple as Castro’s death, that the embargo would be lifted.

Good news restaurant goers, Kramer will longer have to import Guatemalans.
