The Tooth Fairy Visits

Tonight we will be visited by the Tooth Fairy.

Bella lost her first tooth tonight. For the one dentist in the family: the "Deciduous O (15d)" or central incisor, lower left (not sure if I got the notation right, but Wikipedia is "close enough"). Bella was so excited, racing downstairs, an apple in hand, beaming with excitement.

She held out her hand, Shannon almost fainted at the artifact.

Bella wants us to tell the Tooth Fairy exactly where the tooth is (ensconced in a special pillow) so she can find it. We promised to email the Tooth Fairy with these instructions.

Class of '08

Bella Alane graduated this morning from Pre-K.

Functions included class assembly, student experiences, a reading of Oh, The Places You’ll Go, and diploma ceremony. Brownies, juice, and a veggie tray was provided at the after-party.

The Land of GA

Bella and I boarded a plane for a trip to Georgia. An extended visited with friends and family.

Bella and I spent the first day on the lake riding in the boat and wave hopping in the tube.

I drove of Ellijay, GA—featured in the April 2008 issue of National Geographic Adventurer!— for some trout fishing... ok, really drinking beer with friends, relaxing, reading, and laughing.

Bella spent the weekend with grandparents, uncles, aunts and cousins having a lot of fun. We wrapped up the weekend with a cookout (and the final round of the Masters on the TV).

We are looking forward to next year!

A Birthday with the Disney Princesses

Bella is 5. Bella got the biggest present for a birthday one can't ask for: a vacation in Walt Disney World.

We got to be kids again with her. Shannon got to eat a lot of real candy apples. I got to ride Mt. Everest. Sun. Pool. Fun.

Then there is the dinner with Cinderella. Or meeting Ariel. Or it could have been story time with Belle. Maybe it was High School Musical street dancing. Or the wonder of walking through Cinderella's castle.

Whatever the most exciting part, Bella's eyes remained wide with wonder every day on an adventure she won't soon forget.

...is a Barbie, a movie, another movie, a bike, a pony, a Giselle Enchanted doll, Sleeping Beauty's dress, books, a watch...

Bella told Santa that she is a very good girl and that she should get everything on her list. Bella's list is very long.

Roadtrip!

The next greatest thing to driving Daddy’s car is playing in the trunk with your friends.

Now, a regular pastime with neighbors all around, climb in the trunk and gossip about Barbies, fairies, and ponies.
